Responding II at the Adirondack Artists Guild
The Adirondack Artists Guild, in partnership with the Adirondack Center for Writing, will present Responding II - 2020 as the featured exhibit in September, running from September 4 – 29. This show is a follow-up to Responding, an exhibit at the Artists Guild in 2001, after the 9/11 attacks.
The public was invited to submit artistic and literary pieces reflecting the upheaval and uncertainty of this year. The coronavirus, racial injustice, and the threats posed by climate change are some of the inspirations for the work submitted, which came from local people as well as from people across the country.
Given the continued public health risks posed by COVID-19, this will be a virtual exhibit presented on AAG's and ACW’s websites with only pieces created by Guild members displayed at the gallery. There will be no opening reception. Gallery hours in September are 11-3, Thursday through Sunday.
Beginning on September 4, the artistic works will be on the Adirondack Artists Guild website, www.adirondackartistsguild.com. Written submissions will be featured on the Adirondack Center for Writing's website, adirondackcenterforwriting.org.
