The Adirondack Folk School is once again calling for quilters/non-quilters/interested parties to participate in our 7th biennial Quilt Block Challenge. We have chosen this year’s theme: Fur, Feathers, Fins and Flowers
Challenge Rules:
- Your packet will have three fabrics which must be incorporated into your block, one of which should be a major part of your block. The block should measure 12 ½ x 12 ½ inches.
- Each block should illustrate this year’s theme.
- You may pick up your registration form and block packet at the Folk School beginning February 13. If you are out of town and wish to participate, call the School at 518-696-2400 and a packet will be sent out to you.
- Blocks will be judged, and ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: use of challenge fabric, representation of theme, craftsmanship, originality, novice quilter, viewer’s choice, Town Supervisor’s choice.
- All blocks must be returned by March 29.
The blocks will be hung for viewing by the public beginning April 17 through April 21. A reception will be held on April 21, 4:00 – 6:00. Refreshments and good fellowship abound! Quilters, family, and friends are all welcome. After the blocks have been exhibited, they will be made into a quilt that will be raffled off with the proceeds going to the Scholarship Fund.
